Open Microsoft Word on your computer. Select 'File,' and then 'Open' to open a new document.
Create a timeline. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click SmartArt. In the Choose a SmartArt Graphic gallery, click Process, and then double-click a timeline layout (such as Basic Timeline). To enter your text, do one of the following: Click [Text] in the Text pane, and then type your text.
Select the 'Insert' tab. Click 'SmartArt,' which resides in the Illustrations group. Select 'Process' from the Choose a SmartArt Graphic Gallery, and then click a timeline layout, for example, a Basic Timeline.
Enter your text on the graphic by clicking Text. Paste or type the appropriate milestone. Add additional milestones to the timeline by highlighting a shape on the timeline. Then click the arrow to 'Add Shape' in the Create Graphic group, which resides under SmartArt Tools on the Design Tab. Choose to add the milestone either before or after the selection you've highlighted. Delete a milestone by selecting it and pressing the 'Delete' key. Select 'File,' and then 'Save' to save your timeline information.
Customize and add timeline events to fit your project The timeline comes preloaded with a few basic events. You can edit these events to match those in your project. Simply click Text in the first placeholder event, and rename it.
Repeat the process for the remaining two default entries. Once you’ve edited the final default entry, just hit Enter or click + to create a new event. Continue this step until all your main project events have been added. Create a beautiful project plan in just minutes When you’re a project manager, every minute counts. So why waste time building out a bunch of complicated spreadsheets just to keep tabs on a project? At TeamGantt, you don’t have to.
